Instruments
I make percussion instruments, called Springzingers, out of found objects including cigar boxes, springs, piano tines, old clock parts, finger cymbals and music boxes. Each box is handmade and equipped with an audio port for amplification and effects. To view available instruments for purchase, visit my Etsy store.

I got back into town from a trip today to find this in the post alongside a package with a new looper pedal and all I can say after playing around with it for a bit is that this is easily one of the best purchases I've made for my music in a while. I can already see the potential this is going to have for what I enjoy doing, which is making music out of tape loops and effects pedals. There are so many sonic possibilities in this box. I especially love the toy piano tines. There is something delightful about that sound when it's sped up or slowed down, reversed, and then reversed again after overdubbing knocks on the box, then reversing it again at a different speed before plucking at the comb or striking the springs, and on and on and on. I love this thing! Thank you so much for the great new toy! It has inspired me greatly. |
